The City of South Milwaukee is governed under a Mayor/Council format, with the Mayor and Alderpersons elected to 3-year terms. The Mayor serves as the Chief Executive for the City. The Common Council, acting as the legislative branch of our municipal government, consists of eight Alderpersons, with two elected from each of four districts. Our Mayor and Council members serve in a part-time capacity. The Council is tasked with appointing a full-time City Administrator to manage the day-to-day functions of the city.
Agendas are available prior to the meetings. Minutes are available following approval.
