Water & Sewer Billing & Payment Information

Water and Sewer bills are issued tri-annually by the South Milwaukee Water Utility.

Cycle Codes

  • Billing Cycle Code 1: January, May, and September
  • Billing Cycle Code 2: April, August, and December
  • Billing Cycle Code 3: March, July, and November
  • Billing Cycle Code 4: February, June, and October

Payment is due by the 20th of the billing month. If the 20th falls on a Saturday, Sunday, or holiday and City Hall is closed, your payment will be considered timely if paid the following business day.

24-Hour Depository Box

Located along the wall of City Hall facing 15th Avenue, just north of the main doors. The depository is checked every morning, Monday through Friday, for payments.

Setup Online Bill Pay with Your Personal Financial Institution

To set up Online Bill Pay with your personal financial institution, you will need a copy of the South Milwaukee Water Utility bill that was issued you to. Visit your online bank provider’s website, locate the "Bill Pay" information. Add "new payee", and type in the South Milwaukee Water Utility as the payee. You must include the proper mailing address for the South Milwaukee Water Utility and water bill’s full account number and address (if space allows), and any additional essential information needed. 

This service is directly through your bank institution, and payments will need to be initiated by the customer. This service will not automatically send future payments to the South Milwaukee Water Utility, and any payment to the South Milwaukee Water Utility will need to be initiated by the customer.
